In metal processing, textile, paper making, rubber, chemical and electric wire industries, products often need to be wrapped on the coiling blocks (reels). There is a problem to be solved, that is how to keep the tension and speed change within an allowable scope during the whole process of coiling block diameter gradually increasing from the beginning to the end. In order to solve above problem, most manufactures add some auxiliary equipments on the mechanical structure or adopt other drive systems, but the results are not so good. Meanwhile, there are also some problems such as complex, expensive and difficult to use and maintain. The above problems become more prominent following the industrial and agricultural development of our country as well as the high speed, high quality and improvement of automation level. 


YLJ, JLJ series torque motors have special electrical characteristics. When the loads increased, the motor shaft rotating speed can become lower automatically, so the products winding tension can basically remain unchanged. This superior performance is well matched with the winding characteristics. So this series of motors can also be called winding characteristics torque motors. Because the motor has large impedance, and the stall current is lower than that of traditional motors, and we also considered the need for multiple uses for the structures and adopted the form of forced ventilation. So the motor can run at low rotating speed for a long term even in block state. And the motor has a simple structure, and has no electric brush, slip ring, commutator and so on. It is easy to use and maintain, and this advantage is the same as traditional asynchronous motor.


Control of torque motor


The control of torque motor is to adjust its power voltage according to different requirements to fit for different tensions. Generally for products of one specification, after the tension was well adjusted, there is no need to adjust it in the later period. The control method is very simple; you can use any voltage regulating devices. Generally, for low output motors, we often use three phase voltage regulator (TSGC type contact voltage regulator); for high output motor, you can adopt SCR voltage regulator or other forms. The power of voltage regulating device should be chosen according to the motor maximum current (which can be rated output and in a blocking state). The control line figure is as follows:


Output and Model Instruction


This series of motors take the output torque in blocking state as rated value, the unit is N·M, and the manufacturing specifications are as follows: 6, 10, 12, 16, 25, 40, 60, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, N·M. And the motor poles were manufactured to four poles and six poles according to different rotating speed requirements. Instructions of the model and numbers of this series of motors are as follows:

Working Conditions:


1. This series of motors are used under periodic loads (from high speed to low speed).

2. The rated frequency of the motor is 50Hz; the rated voltage is 380V.

3. Altitude above sea level shall not exceed 1000M.

4. The maximum ambient temperature is +40℃

5. The air blower must be normal open during the motor running.

Mounting Arrangement


This series of motors are horizontal type, with footing on the motor base, and there are no flanges on the end cover. This series of motors have two forms according to the different air blower configuration. 


1.The Figure 1 is centrifugal blower; it was installed on top of the motor. The installation size and dimensions are in Table 1.
